Choosing the perfect wedding venue on Lake Como involves careful planning and fully embracing a couple’s dream for romance and elegance. When Christian and Shelley planned their perfect day, no site could be more perfect than the Villa del Balbianello. There, together with all their friends and family, they would join together as a married couple and set the stage for a life full of love.
The Beauty of an Italy Wedding
The picturesque villa rises straight from the lakeside with its golden-hued towers and verandas. Lush, green gardens surround the space, which offer a wonderful backdrop for picture-taking during and after the ceremony. On a bright, sunny July 11th, Christian arrived by boat across the crystal blue waters of the lake. Tucked away in the villa’s beautifully appointed rooms waited his bride Shelley, the bridal party, and all the guests.
Every couple dreams of a picture-perfect wedding day, and that is exactly what this loving pair got. Besides the amazing beauty of the Villa del Balbianello itself, the preparations for the wedding itself were stunning. Imagine lush gardens as a backdrop vying for attention with the vine-wrapped columns of the open-air veranda space. Then, picture gorgeous floral arrangements of blue hydrangea and white roses that mimic the sky above.
The Joy of a Romantic Event
The moment arrived at last after guests mingled and enjoyed the glorious venue and weather. On her father’s arm, Shelley appeared like a vision in white to walk down the aisle to Christian, her husband-to-be, to the sweet sounds of a singer with guitar accompaniment. White and blue blossoms decorated the end chair in every row. The bridesmaids wore sleek, navy-blue gowns. Christian stood with his groomsmen in light blue jackets and bowties perfect for the occasion and the color scheme.
Surrounded by family and friends, the two said their vows and promised a forever love. The celebration afterward filled the towering ceilings and open-air spaces with sheer joy and excitement for the couple. The Viviana band played on a patio perfect for dancing. The guests enjoyed Prosecco and an assortment of other beverages with their meal.
Lake Como itself played a prominent role in the wedding event held for Christian and Shelley. They boarded a Como Classic speedboat for a relaxing one-hour tour around the water. This was a perfect opportunity to catch stunning photos as well.
As the day progressed and the sun began to sink behind the hills beyond Lake Como, the band continued to play. Firework fountains burst into sparkles near the villa’s loggia. Champagne bottles were popped on the top terrace. A stunning Italian wedding cake with Chantilly cream and berries was cut and served to the delight of the guests. The perfect day finished with dancing, music, and an outpouring of love from every side.
