Bibi & Syrus’ Lake Como wedding with stunning Persian spread
Our bride’s devoted mother and bridemaids arrived early on the morning to help lay out the most elaborate ‘Persian Spread’ for the ceremony. It took hours and many of the items had been sourced from far and wide especially. It was absolutely worth all the hard work and effort. As a planner with over ten years of experience, I have never seen a display like it.
Our groom, Syrus, arrived in style with his groomsmen looking incredibly dapper on a classic Riva boat. They waved, as the boat drew near, at the guests who had just arrived in the villa’s botanical park gardens.
The ceremony was steeped in tradition and emotion. A harp played gently in the background as our couple exchanged their vows and made their promises.
As our bridal party remained at the ceremony arch for pictures, a lively band swayed guests over to the lawn. Cocktails and canapes were ready waiting for everyone to relax in the September sunshine.
The evening…
Villa Erba really does provide the most incredible backdrop for photographs. Bibi and Syrus entered the dining hall, down a staircase decorated with red carpet and glass voltives. The catering team provided the most splendid feast, perfectly completed with an elegant, candle-lit dessert buffet.
Iranians love to dance! The dancefloor was packed the entire night, right into the early hours. Our couple’s own DJ flew in from London to play a fantastic mix of Iranian and English tunes. A clear hit with all our guests!
Despite several drinks, as the cake was being cut, women took turns to dance with an enormous knife! The ‘Knife dance’ was the highlights of the evening, bringing together the traditions of the day and entertaining the guests.
A final Note…
